This Lesson Plan has an impressive Excel Sheet of slang/loan words which English (UK) has adopted over the years and which have now found their way into Hip-Hop – among other art forms. There are also pre-made bingo cards and explanations of the game, all round a ready to roll resources which will draw students attention to the evolution of language and the importance of co-opting words, sayings, aphorisms, and cliches from other languages. It could also be adapted to a lesson on migration, ethnic melting pots urban hybridity etc.
