This Lesson Plan is a clever take on literary themes and the ways in which authors use characterization. It has a PowerPoint (Free sign-up to access) which has different quotes from the novella mixed up with Jay-Z lyrics. Students then have to work out which is which and discuss how context, place, time etc all impact on the way we form a character in our minds and assimilate uncontextualized text.
